The Danish Lake District Ecomuseum

Economy

The commercial department of the County of Århus along with Skanderborg, Brædstrup and Ry District Councils have taken a positive attitude to the presentation of ideas and have approved finances for running the Secretariat.

Certain projects have been carried out with economic support from the County of Århus, Skanderborg, Brædstrup and Ry District Councils and the Open-air Council using money from the Pools and Lottery designated for out-door activities as well as from the Ministry for Home Affairs' pool for Country Districts and many others. Projects have also been carried out for counties, district councils and Silkeborg State Forest District on a consultant basis for 0.5 million Danish crowns. In addition, there are the contributions that the involved institutions have themselves received, on top of the contributions earmarked for arrangements and live activities.

There are 15-20 people employed in the involved institutions with about 100 volunteers available when needed. In some situations, like the Middle Ages' Market, up to 250 volunteers can be called upon.
