Introduction to the Lake District of Central Jutland
The landscape in Denmark has been worked by humans throughout the ages and is therefore a cultivated landscape. Events have been played out here
that have left traces in forms such as visible structures, sagas and stories.

The Lake District stretches from Skanderborg in East Jutland over the Jutland Ridge to Isenvad in central Jutland and from Silkeborg in the north
to Hvirring in the south. The area is in all about 1,070 square kilometres.
The Lake District of Central Jutland is designated as a national nature park. That is to say that, based on an assessment of the landscape, the natural
history and the cultural history, it is regarded as of national and in some respects international importance.
